Jon Courand, M.D., F.A.A.P.

Assistant Dean for Wellbeing for Graduate Medical Education

Jon Courand, M.D., F.A.A.P. is a Professor and Vice Chair of Pediatrics and Assistant Dean for Well‑Being at UT Health San Antonio. A former Pediatric Critical Care physician and current Hospitalist, he directed the Pediatric Residency Program for 10 years. He leads wellness initiatives nationally, chairs the AAMC/CFAS Wellness Committee, co‑developed the TRRI tool, and created the Institutional Compassion Course. He received the 2022 Presidential Teaching Award.

Behavioral Health Consultant

Veena Prasad, PhD, MBA, LPC, is a Behavioral Health Consultant at UT Health San Antonio who brings deep expertise in mental health, resilience, and clinician support to her work. As a host on the Ripples: Physician Well-Being podcast, she shares practical strategies and evidence-informed insights to help physicians navigate stress, build emotional well-being, and foster a more supportive healthcare culture.

Adriana Dyurich, PhD, LPC

Academic Success Consultant

Adriana Dyurich, PhD, LPC is a member of the OGME Wellness Home. She received her PhD in Counseling Education and Supervision from Texas A&M Corpus Christi (TAMUCC) and is a licensed professional counselor in the state of Texas. Dyurich has extensive experience working with highly functioning adults facing life stresses related to burnout, trauma, anxiety, and depression. She has helped trainees of diverse ages overcome personal and academic difficulties to become successful and fulfilled. 

Dyurich is actively involved with research, innovations in wellness programs, and creating a supportive community in medical education, presenting her projects and research findings at local, national, and international conferences.
