Admission Requirements

  • MSN from a nationally accredited school of nursing (ACEN, NLNAC, CCNE)
  • RN licensure in Texas or compact state license
  • 3.0 minimum GPA from last 60 hours of college coursework
  • Three professional references
  • $45 School of Nursing Application Fee (non-refundable)
  • A completed NursingCAS application
  • NursingCAS Application Fee
  • Please be advised that Post MSN-DNP (Doctor of Nursing Practice) applicants will be required to complete an embedded online interview as part of the application process within Nursing CAS (Centralized Application Service for Nursing Programs).
  • Proof of current national certification as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (for Advanced Practice Leadership track only)

All Nursing programs at UT San Antonio require a completed  to be submitted before the deadline.

A completed  application must be submitted before the application deadline. All fees are accessed through the NursingCAS application. The Office of Admissions fee is $45 and is non-refundable. The NursingCAS fee is separate and is .

Program Information

The Post-MSN DNP is a doctoral degree that prepares students for the highest level of nursing practice. This program is designed for nurses who already hold a master’s degree in nursing. Post-MSN nurses can choose from leadership tracks in one of the following:

  • Advanced Practice Leadership (APL)
  • Executive Administrative Management (EAM)
